Independent review

A second opinion on a cycle that did not work

A cycle that failed still holds a great deal of information. Stimulation response, fertilisation rate, embryo development and endometrial timing each point somewhere different — and reviewing them is how the approach gets changed rather than simply repeated.

What gets reviewed

Three things we look at first

Embryo grading audit

How the embryos were graded, how they developed day by day, and whether the reported grades match the development described.

Stimulation and laboratory protocol

The medication protocol and dosing against your AMH and antral follicle count, and whether the laboratory conditions suited your case.

Uterine and male factors

Endometrial thickness and timing, plus sperm DNA fragmentation — the two areas most often overlooked after a failed transfer.

What a second opinion is not: It is not a promise that a further cycle will succeed, and it is not a criticism of your previous clinic. Sometimes the review concludes that the protocol was appropriate and the outcome was simply bad luck. We will tell you that too, if that is what the records show.

What to send us

The more of these you have, the more useful the review will be. Send whatever you have — an incomplete set is still worth reviewing.

  • Discharge summaries from the previous cycle
  • Stimulation charts and medication dosages
  • Embryology reports and embryo grading sheets
  • Ultrasound scan reports, including endometrial thickness
  • Semen analysis, and a DFI report if one was done
  • AMH and any baseline hormone results

Request a case review

Tell us briefly what happened and how to reach you. A member of the clinical team will come back to you to arrange the review and let you know which records are still needed.

Next step

Ask before you commit to another cycle

There is no obligation to transfer your care. Many people have the review, take the findings back to their existing clinic, and continue treatment there.
